1930S END OF TERRACE, SOUTH EAST LONDON | LIGHTING SUPPLY | INTERIOR BY K SPACE, PHOTOGRAPHY BY KASIA FISZER

Interior Design studio K Space were tasked with reimagining a portion of this 1930’s End of Terrace home in South east London. Their use of utilitarian materials in redesigning the space pays homage to its former incarnation as an underutilised garage. The result is ‘a playful, informal gentlemen’s club-meets-industrial-games room’, characterised by the incorporation of retro detailing and the use of bold shapes.

Our popular sphere rear wired lamps sit elegantly on the wall above. Their clean aesthetic provides a wonderful contrast to the eye-catching terrazzo tiling below.

The black base is undoubtably a more subtle option which blends in beautifully with the colour scheme here while complimenting the sleek design of the bathroom. For those who are perhaps seeking lights to accompany a different style of décor, we also offer the light with a distinctive and elegant brass base.

As well as being suitable for outdoor spaces due to their high resistance rating, the brightness and colour of the light can be easily changed with any E27 bulb specification due to their IP rating. We recommend that our customers opt for a standard LED E27 bulb which emits a soothing warm source of light, whether it be to accompany you on a cold winter morning or lay an ambient foundation for your evening bath.

These high-quality solid brass light fittings are produced in a historic factory situated within the United Kingdom. The potential to utilise them as either mirror lights, wall lights or ceiling lights attests to their versatility.

Their use as ceiling lights on this project testify to their suitability for areas of the house with low ceilings. The exposed fittings provide an aesthetic that could sit comfortably alongside a variety of interior stylistic themes. In this instance, it functions as an interesting feature set amongst a mixture of contrasting textures and enthralling patterns, complimented by an understated yet thoughtful use of colour.

Each Bronze fixed bulb holder has a base with two screw holes, providing a solid fixing point. If you were seeking a different finish, these fittings are easily upgraded via the addition of any of our E27 hole size shades. If you really wanted to make a statement, we recommend our flat or cone enamel shades that are available in a variety of vibrant colours.
