Volcanic stone pestle and mortar Handmade in Mexico. Requires "cured - season" preparation and special care. The molcajete is a traditional Mesoamerican mortar and pestle, widely used in Mexico. It is used to grind or crush foods, such as grains, spices, and vegetables, intended for the preparation of sauces and other dishes. To grind the ingredients, a stone cylinder called tejolote or commonly referred to as a molcajete stone is used.

The molcajete should not be confused with the metate, which is used to grind corn. Volcanic stone has a porous texture and low hardness, offering infinite possibilities for carving and cutting .The volcanic stone comes from the magma or lava inside a volcano that, when it reaches the cold surface, quickly turns into stone.

Recommend hand-washing to preserve the finish.

All lead times quoted are for delivery to mainland UK, if ordering outside of this area there will be an additional transit time relevant to your destination.

US customers will be subject to additional tariffs as well as import duties and tax. Our team will be in touch after your order has been placed to confirm the individual tariff rates for each item. Orders will not be processed until you have confirmed that you accept the tariff rates and give consent for the order to be shipped.

Our returns policy lasts for 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase has been delivered, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange.

Goods / Returns must be received to Dyke & Dean within 14 days of being delivered to you. If Goods / Returns are received after this we will not issue a refund. Notification to our office of your return via telephone, email, fax and or letter within 14 days does not mean a refund will be given. A refund will only be reviewed if the Goods / Returns are received within 14 days to our possession.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Customers are responsible for the delivery costs of returning the goods. 

Bespoke/Made to order products, cut lengths of fabric cable under 100m and Outlet items are non-returnable.
