EGG CODDLER LARGE
Developed in 1891 by Ernst Abbe and Otto Schott originally for chemical industry. The glass went onto be used by the nearby Bauhaus school of design in Germany.
As early as 1933, the designer Wilhelm Wagenfeld created the egg coddler, which proceeded to make history as a prototype for modern glass design. This design classic made of heat-resistant glass is characterised by its unmistakable form. Even today, it continues to inspire enthusiasts of classic design with its functionality and sleek visual appearance. The egg coddler was developed in connection with designs for the famous Wagenfeld Edition tea service.
