Our Ceramic Faux-Marbre Bistro Tables have the look and feel of natural marble and are ideal for hospitality use. Ceramics are a stronger, more durable alternative to marble. Each piece is made from compressed natural stone and fired at over 2,200°F (1200°C). The result is a non-porous stone, so it is stain-proof and scratch-resistant. It is also heat and UV-resistant. Ceramic never needs to be sealed, nor does it absorb liquids, making it ideal for restaurant and bar use. The stone is almost indistinguishable from nature-made stone and can remain outdoors. The ceramic top is lighter than marble, making it easier to move.
The edge of the table has an antiqued and sealed, seamless brass band encompassing the stone's rim. This band protects the stone's edge from chipping and damage. We have replicated the construction process taken from late 19th-century French bistro tables, including the same ornate detailing and how the marble is affixed to the table. Both the stem and base are powder-coated.
These tables can be used indoors or outdoors, but they are best if kept under an overhang. If kept in direct sunlight, the brass band may tarnish over time.
