IL La straordinaria storia di successo di Thonet inizia con il lavoro del maestro falegname Michael Thonet (1796-1871), che sancisce il passaggio dalla produzione manuale di mobili alla produzione industriale. Michael Thonet riuscì a dare il via alla produzione industriale nel 1859 a Vienna con la sedia n. 14, in seguito chiamata "sedia da caffè viennese", per la quale fu utilizzata la tecnica innovativa della curvatura del legno massiccio di faggio. La sedia n. 14 aprì la strada a Thonet per diventare un'impresa globale, a cui seguirono numerosi progetti di successo in legno curvato. La produzione di Thonet raggiunse il suo apice nel 1912: quell’anno furono prodotte e vendute due milioni di unità in tutto il mondo.

L'azienda di famiglia ha la sede principale a Frankenberg, nel nord dell'Assia. Oggi, tutti i classici in legno curvato e tubolare d'acciaio, nonché le collezioni contemporanee, vengono prodotti qui in uno stabilimento dotato di attrezzature produttive all'avanguardia e di uno staff di lavoratori con una vasta esperienza a cui attingere. Thonet sviluppa ancora prodotti innovativi che si distinguono per la qualità dei materiali e un linguaggio formale senza tempo e tengono sempre in considerazione la sostenibilità e la durevolezza.

La sedia è realizzata con una struttura in acciaio verniciato a polvere, legno oliato o faggio tinto. Il lavoro in canna naturale è intrecciato a mano.

International customers will be liable to pay customs and duties once your order reaches your country's border.

All lead times quoted are for delivery to mainland UK, if ordering outside of this area there will be an additional transit time relevant to your destination.

US customers will be subject to additional tariffs as well as import duties and tax. Our team will be in touch after your order has been placed to confirm the individual tariff rates for each item. Orders will not be processed until you have confirmed that you accept the tariff rates and give consent for the order to be shipped.

Our returns policy lasts for 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase has been delivered, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund or exchange.

Goods / Returns must be received to Dyke & Dean within 14 days of being delivered to you. If Goods / Returns are received after this we will not issue a refund. Notification to our office of your return via telephone, email, fax and or letter within 14 days does not mean a refund will be given. A refund will only be reviewed if the Goods / Returns are received within 14 days to our possession.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Customers are responsible for the delivery costs of returning the goods. 

Bespoke/Made to order products, cut lengths of fabric cable under 100m and Outlet items are non-returnable.
